Why teams switch

Where Workwae is different.

Unipile covers messaging channels Workwae does not. These are the mail and calendar gaps teams switch for.

Microsoft national clouds

GCC High, DoD and 21Vianet accounts, each signed in and called in its own cloud. Unipile does not document national clouds.

Zoom and Webex with events

Meetings are created, moved and canceled with the event. Unipile’s guide says to pass a conference URL; it does not document Webex. U6, U7

Calendars and contacts for IMAP

IMAP accounts can add CalDAV and CardDAV. Unipile documents Google and Outlook calendars, and contact listing for Gmail and Microsoft only. U4, U5

Import the refresh tokens you hold.

If your own Google or Microsoft app issued the grants, register it with the same client id and secret and import each token with accounts.create.

  • No new consent. Users on your own app don’t sign in again.
  • Chat accounts stay on Unipile. Workwae has no LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Instagram or Telegram.
  • Password IMAP too. Create IMAP accounts from the credentials you hold.

Migration paths

import.ts
// Once per user, with the token your own app holds
const account = await workwae.accounts.create({
  provider: "google",
  refreshToken,
  oauthAppId: googleApp.id, // your app, registered in the workspace
  externalRef: user.id,
});
FAQ

Questions teams ask.

Does Workwae connect LinkedIn or WhatsApp?

No. Workwae is mail, calendars and contacts. If you need LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Instagram or Telegram, Unipile documents those channels and Workwae does not.

Can we keep using Unipile’s Google app?

No. Import works for refresh tokens your own Google or Microsoft app issued. Everyone else signs in once through hosted connect, to Workwae’s app or yours.

Do you have a SOC 2 report?

No, SOC 2 is planned and not started. Unipile publishes SOC 2 Type II. Security describes how we protect connected accounts.

Where is data hosted?

On AWS in the United States. There is no European region. Unipile documents hosting in France.
